Youth Business Acceleration and Investment Facility Malawi (YBAIF) is a three-year (2021- 2024) innovative program supported by USAID/Malawi and led by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (ABC). Framed around resilience-led sustainable strategy, the YBAIF Activity will strengthen the resilience of youth and women led enterprises including vulnerable households in the Resilience Focus Zones (RFZs) through delivery of Business Development Services creating growth orientated, sustainable firms able to secure and effectively utilize investment. The Activity’s objective is to accelerate and invest in youth owned or youth-led enterprises or those entities that employ a significant number of youth to generate greater access to financing, diversified incomes, job creation, gender equality and women’s empowerment, a more inclusive private sector ecosystem and improved resilience of communities in targeted vulnerable districts.

YBAIF would like to hire enumerators who will be engaged in the planned research activities within the two-year Activity implementation.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Adhere to all data collection policies and procedures, consulting with the survey supervisor as needed
  • Always respect the privacy of respondents, and keep survey data confidential, according to the guidelines of the data collection policies and procedures
  • Conducting interviews using tablets for electronic data capture
  • Maintaining coherent records of daily activities
  • Submit data collected on time according to the data collection plan.
  • Submit an end-of-survey report to the survey supervisor using the provided form.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Enterprise Development and Microfinance, IT
  • Prior experience with tablet-based data collection and long duration field work
  • Experience in community engagement
  • Ability to work in a team and cultivate team spirit.
  • Demonstratable track record of hard-working spirit, integrity and discipline
  • Have valid proof of ID either a national ID card or passport.
