The Anglican Council in Malawi (ACM) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Finance and Administration Manager (FAM).
Position Summary
The FAM is responsible for the overall financial management, human resources management and general administration of the ACM.
S/He is also responsible for providing insightful financial and non-financial information and expectations to the General Secretary (GS) to aid in decision making.
A. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
? Oversee and manage all financial issues related to the ACM’s as outlined in the finance manual and related policies.
? Ensure timely preparation of monthly and quarterly management reports.
? Provide expert advice and support to programme staff on programme budgeting, implementation and budget reviews and financial reporting, ensuring that project budgets are effectively managed in line with agreed funding terms and expenditure plans and that they are prepared and submitted according to set deadlines and to a high standard.
? Analyse monthly financial management reports and advise Heads of Departments and Programme Coordinators on any variances in expenditure, informing the General Secretary as and when appropriate.
? Lead the finance team ensuring its effective contribution towards meeting the ACM programme objectives by delivering an efficient, customer focussed service to programmes and administrative staff.
? Prepare and present ACM’s budgets and financial to relevant stakeholders when requested.
? Monitor bank balances and cash flow for operational needs including forecasting (liquidation plan) and follow up on donors and membership contributions to ensure adequate cash for operations.
? Ensure complete documentation, stewardship and accountability of financial transactions.
? Co-ordinate risk management and ensure that embedded processes of risk identification, monitoring and mitigation are in place.
? Coordinating the compilation of timely and adequate audit responses.
? Manage the HR of the organisation according to legislation and regulations in line with approved personnel policies.
B. Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
? Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience; or BSc in Finance or Accounting from accredited institution.
? At least five years relevant experience in a finance/admin function in the field at an appropriate level, with sound understanding of working with a Faith Based Organisation.
? Must be a Christian in good standing and should be at least 40 years old.
