Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of the Case Manager offered at the Association of Women in Religious Institutes of Malawi (AWRIM) for the Catholic Care for Children (CCC) program.

Catholic Care for Children Movement is a Sister lead, charism driven movement that aims at promoting the charism of child care and empower sisters to become champions of child care.
The case management officer will work closely with Child Care Institutions (CCI) administrators to help them understand gatekeeping mechanisms, and vulnerability assessment; developing case records with relevant interventions to see if the child is sustainably transitioned to the family or community.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Train CCI admins in gatekeeping mechanisms: Assessing vulnerability to determine needs and propose interventions for every individual child, taking the critical decision of whether to support a child from his/her family or recommending admission of children into residential care where it cannot be avoided; coordinating and facilitating admissions by advising the Alternative Care Service of all relevant case information, preparing required documents, preventing separation of the child and family. To help CCI admins identify services that they can render to children while they stay in their families without necessary admitting them onto residential care.
- Conducting case investigations, reviews, coordinating and conducting forensic interviews, visiting client homes, and interviewing clients, families
- Vulnerability assessment
- Identifying a child’s needs and prioritizing necessary interventions
- Developing case records, resettlement and post resettlement support
- Support CCI admins to trace, develop and update records for all children in the CCIs
- Support CCI admins to maintains progress notes, case record documentation, and required reports in accordance with Government laws of running a CCI (in accordance to the approved home rules)
- To periodically (every six months) review every child’s case record and advise the CCI admin accordingly.
Minimum Qualifications Skills / abilities
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration or Social Sciences
- A minimum of 3 years of hands on practical experience in case management dealing with children, i.e. gate keeping mechanisms, vulnerability assessment, developing case records with relevant intersessions to see the child graduate/resettled to secure and stable family environment with post resettlement support until case closure.
- Profound knowledge in Child Protection, a certificate is an added advantage.
- Ability to work within the policies, standards, procedures, vision, mission and core values of the Association of Women in Religious Institutes of Malawi (AWRIM).
- Ability to understand and/ speak more than 3 local languages that is English, Chichewa and Tumbuka is an added advantage
- Ability to be in the field most of the time.
