The Opportunity

The main purpose of this role is to lead on enhancing quality, accountability and learning for achieving breakthrough solutions in bringing immediate and lasting changes in the lives of children. The MEAL Manager will bring significant experience and fresh ideas to develop and roll out MEAL systems while also having a direct oversight on our MEAL work in humanitarian responses.

In summary, the National MEAL Manager will be responsible for establishing and promoting use of MEAL systems to ensure that our Country Office:

  • is  informed on the extent to which our interventions are affecting the lives of the targeted populations.
  • have evidence-based knowledge on the positive and negative impact that our interventions are having over the communities where SCI works;
  • receives regular, timely and context-specific, meaningful feedback from our staff, partners, programme participants and that feedback effectively informs and signals areas where strategic attention is required.
  • Coordinate the production and submission of timely and professionally developed reports

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

QUALIFICATIONS 

Degree in Statistics, demography, social sciences or any other relevant disciplines

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • At least 7+ years’ experience of working in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning roles
  • Fluency in English, for effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent data analysis using STATA or SPSS and writing skills
  • Previous experience in using online platforms to manage data and reports
  • Previous experience of successfully securing MEAL resources and managing a budget.
  • Experience of conducting and/or commissioning and managing evaluations.
  • Experience of designing and managing knowledge management systems, an awareness of learning methodologies and experience of leading learning events.
  • Good organisational skills, the ability to pay close attention to detail and capable of reporting in a timely manner.
  • Ability to analyse information, evaluate options and to think and plan strategically.
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner, and to use innovative forms of communication.
  • Demonstrable understanding of gender and equity analyses.
  • Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach staff.
  • Knowledge in computer skills required.
