JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to: The Principal

  • Research on some topics to be delivered to the students.
  • Preparation of lesson plans.
  • Organize all necessary teaching aids (improvise if necessary) and teach different subjects as assigned.
  • Develop teaching manuals in consultation with other lecturers
  • Setting, marking and grading students in theory examinations.
  • Collate and record all student results in confidence for academic records
  • Getting involved in departmental meetings or meetings with other institutions as required.
  • Giving support to any other new Tutors that join the team
  • Liaise with external tutors by supporting and helping them deliver their assignments with efficiency and quality
  • Assist in organizing students’ clinical placements and supervise the students during the same.
  • Take preliminary measures to discipline any unruly behavior by students before referring to the Principal.
  • Develop standard patient assessment and management protocols for students
  • Attending multi-disciplinary clinical case meetings and presentations Support students in the identification, selection of research topics and in carrying out the research, marking and grading the same.
  • Taking care of any organization property entrusted under your care and report any defects that may need attention.
  • Carrying out other administrative duties as may be assigned by the principal or any other senior members of staff from time to time.

PATIENT ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT

At times, you will be asked to treat in or outpatients in the department or elsewhere as follows:

  • Carrying out thorough assessment of patients presenting with various conditions and identifying their needs.
  • Plan and implement their treatment goals, monitor their progress and plan their reviews till discharge
  • Educate patients, their families and employers about the patients’ condition, the patients’ needs and how they can be involved in providing good medical care for the patient.
  • Organizing general health talks on patients’ preventable conditions as well as on the management of their existing conditions
  • Preparing the patients, family and employers on prospective smooth patient discharge
  • Examining the patients’ home and workplace for any potential changes and adjustments as required by their physical and psychological needs
  • Design facilitate production or purchase of appropriate patient assistive devices
  • Organizing patient medical reports when required
  • Transfer skills to guardians for carryover treatment in their own time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate from a recognized College/University
  • Computer literate
  • Full of self discipline, interpersonal skills and control to fit amongst senior and junior staff and students
  • Self-starter in many areas of the work.

Interest to develop professionally and always willing to be guided by senior staff
