PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill in the position of Public Relations Officer, based in Lilongwe. The role older will be reporting to the Head of Commercial.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for public relations initiatives within the airline.
• Creates, manages, and implements PR campaigns with the goal of enriching a company’s image.
• Lead situation and problem analysis through surveys and other appropriate means to develop effective public relation and dissemination of strategies and policies for the airline.
• Responding to enquiries from the media, providing information or makes clarification on any matter relating to the operation of the airline.
• Preparing press releases, press briefings in liaison with management to communicate any information relating to the operations of the airline as a spokesperson.
• Facilitation of official functions at which the airline is represented.
• Production of publications for internal and external audiences, including Tiyende In-flight Magazine and staff newsletters.
• Handling customer relations.
• Ensure strict adherence to the safety and security standards of Malawi Airlines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Must have a Bachelor degree in Journalism or related from an accredited institution.&
• Minimum of two years working experience.
• Conscientious, thorough, systematic person with a high level of integrity.
• Open minded, diplomatic person with excellent communication as well as interpersonal skills, able to assimilate information quickly and accurately.
