Action for environmental sustainability (AfES) is local nongovernmental organization whose mission is to address environmental degradation and poverty in communities of Malawi.
With funding support from the Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety under the International Climate Initiative (IKI) and in collaboration with the Global Nature Fund, Action for Environmental Sustainability (AfES) is implementing a Living Lakes Biodiversity and Climate project, targeting smallholder farmers and fishers along Lake Malawi and we are seeking 2 interns to join our team.
This internship opportunity is open for individuals with the following skills and qualifications;
- Very good in Chichewa and English,
- An effective communicator, both written and oral,
- Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines,
- Should have the ability and enthusiasm for growing fish,
- Knowledge of different aquaculture production systems,
- Team player and an ability to work hard and well with minimal supervision,
- Recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture, Fisheries, biology or related field.
