There is Hope is a Christian Non-Governmental Organization which was registered under the Malawi Trustees Incorporation Act on 31 December 2007. We are a member of NGO Board and CONGOMA (Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi).
With a private grant from the Bauer Charity through Welthungerhilfe Malawi (WHH), There is Hope (TIH) will be implementing an 18 months project called Skill UP!
There is Hope is therefore looking for a Project Officer to assist in implementing the project at its Vocational School at Lilambwe opposite Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa. The post holder will directly report to the Programmes Manager. Those who meet the job requirements can apply. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews. Skill UP! Project Officer roles and responsibilities
- Identify project needs and develop a detailed timeline for implementation.
- Coordinate implementation of project activities.
- Oversee Skill Up instructors and training.
- Monitor expenditures and create detailed reports for the Programs Manager.
- Keep track of project’s progress and ensure its completion before the deadline.
- Work within budget constraints.
- Implement changes and processes as and when needed.
- Malawi Skill Up Project representation in working committees on Adult Learning and Education, and Advocacy
Specific duties
- Supervision of Skill Up project instructors.
- Enrolling of Skill Up students/participants.
- Coordinating implementation of project activities.
- Monitor project expenditure and create reports for the Programs Manager.
- Production of project reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any Social Science degree with a bias towards Technical or Adult Education.
- Able to manage people and projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chichewa.
- 2 to 3 years work experience in project management
- A good understanding of the TVET system in Malawi will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Teams and Google Docs.
