Malawi Council for the Handicapped (MACOHA) was established by an Act of Parliament, the Handicapped Persons Act 1971 (Cap. 33.02) as a statutory corporation.
Its goal is to facilitate the empowerment of persons with disabilities to enable them to actively participate and be included in the social economic development activities of their communities and the country at large.
The Council’s programmes and services are aimed at mainstreaming disability in all areas of the country’s development agenda for an inclusive Malawi society.
MACOHA seeks to recruit well qualified persons to fill the vacant positions of
Internal Audit Assistant
(Grade 6) tenable at MACOHA Head Office MACOHA Head Office on Kittermaster Avenue, BCA Hills, Limbe.
Duties and Responsibilities
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill a vacant position of Internal Audit Assistant (Grade 6)
The Internal Audit Assistant will be responsible for the following duties, among others:

Assist in planning, performing audits and reporting of financial and operational reviews on assignment basis.

Assist in examining company accounts, performing tests of the internal control environment, analyse systems of internal and financial controls.

Assist in detecting and investigating potential or actual fraud.

Assist the Internal Auditor in performing risk assessments for both routine and special request audits as well as compiling audit programs where required.

Reviewing payments to ensure they are within the budget and have the required supporting documents.

Reviewing operational audits which evaluate and encourage compliance with in order to promote operations prescribed company policies and procedures efficiency.

Support financial and programmatic audits as necessary.
Minimum Experience Qualifications, Knowledge and Education
Education:
Degree in Accounting/Finance.
Experience:
3 years working experience in auditing/ accounting.
Knowledge:
In-depth understanding and knowledge in auditing, accounting and financial investigative functions; basic knowledge in modern accounting and auditing systems.
