Description
JFA Engenharia of Portugal “the consortium lead”, has been shortlisted to submit a proposal for an international assignment funded by the World bank.
The assignment in question is to provide Consultancy Services of design Review, tender management, and Construction Supervision for the realization of multi-purpose facilities at Muloza border between Malawi and Mozambique (On Malawi Side).
The assignment period is estimated to be 18 months (Design Review – 4 Months, Tender management – 1.5 Months, Construction Supervision – 12 Months)
Thus, we are searching for a qualified expert to be part of the construction Supervision team on-site for the Supervision Phase.

- Position: Environmental Expert
- Duration: 12 Person Month

Background and Experience Criteria:
- The Environmental Expert shall be responsible for carrying out an environmental impact assessment of the project and compiling an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) in order to avoid, minimize or mitigate any negative impacts that the construction will have on the environment and adjacent areas.
- must have a current practicing certificate with a degree in Environment Management, environmental engineering, or natural resources management.
- must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in infrastructure projects of which not less than five (5) years must have been on the design and supervision of an assignment of similar nature.
- must have served as an Environmentalist in at least three building construction projects of similar nature for the last three (3) years.
- must have a working experience of at least three years in sub-Saharan Africa
- Shall be fluent in written and spoken English
- Holding a nationality or a valid residence of Malawi, Mozambique or Portugal will be an added advantage.
Note: The nominated candidate will be expected to spend the assignment period on-site in Maluzo “Malawi/Mozambique”.
