TREASURY SALES OFFICER
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced. self-motivated enthusiastic candidates to take up the position of TREASURY SALES OFFICER tenable at Head Office in Lilongwe.
Job purpose
Typically reporting to the Treasury Sales Manager, the Treasury Sales Officer is responsible for managing the organisation’s Treasury Sales and business development functions
Key performance areas
- To efficiently measure and manage the treasury function, a Treasury sales Officer in liaison with Treasury Sales Manager manages the department’s sales, customer relationships and business development. These include but are not limited to Monitoring and managing the organisation’s bank relationships and liquidity management
- Customer recruitment and retention
- Managing foreign currency exposure and foreign currency payments
- Analysing various scenarios and risks and reporting to senior management
- Forecasting or medium and long- term funding and hedging requirements (applicable)
- Daily cash management
- Interest rate risk management and development of risk mitigation strategies
- Foreign exchange risk management and development of foreign exchange risk mitigation strategies
- Should be conversant with the operations of Non-Governmental Organisations\u00a0and the Public sector.
- Team management
- Liaising with senior management across the organisation
- Supporting the month end process where necessary
Experience/technical and behavioral competencies
The most common skills and attributes required include but are not limited to:
- Experience managing a Treasury Function
- Understanding and experience or treasury accounting including FX, liquidity, cashflow and various financial instruments
- Sound understanding of accounting principles
- Strong understanding of financial markets, financial instruments and debt instruments
- Knowledge of banking relationships and covenants
- Ability to work autonomously and be part of the broader team
- Appropriate handlina of sensitive informatior
- Excellent time management and organisational ability
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong client relationship management and customer service skills
- Team player with the ability to communicate and coordinate with multiple parties
- Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other accounting packages
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economic/Finance/Accountancy or any related field.
- ACI Certification or willing to attain within 6 months
