EGPAF has worked in Malawi since 2001. Today, EGPAF Malawi implements evidence-based HIV prevention, care and treatment interventions in 177 health facilities in nine districts through EGPAF’s U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief/U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (PEPFAR/CDC) – funded Achieving HIV Epidemic Control through Scaling Up Quality Testing, Care and Treatment in Malawi.

EGPAF in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (Health Technical Support Services Directorate) seeks to feel the following positions below.    

Note:  The Physical Assets Management Division in the Health Technical Support Services Directorate of the Ministry is responsible for management of medical equipment in the Ministry. The primary mandate of the Division is to formulate policies for medical equipment management in the public health sector of Malawi and ensuring the functionality of medical equipment in hospitals at all times, ensuring standards are met and coordinating partners who support the Ministry in matters related to the equipment management.

    How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?

This TA support will go towards the establishment of a medical equipment management information system and creation of medical Equipment Standards Manual and the operationalization of the Equipment management software in health facilities. The successful candidate will work closely with PAM and its partners to develop implementation matrix for the introduction and roll out of the Equipment Management System.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?

•  Support in capacity building for hospital management teams in using digital tools to maintain asset registers for their medical equipment.
•    Support the valuation of assets in the public health sector so that the Ministry can know the value of health physical assets (medical equipment in the hospitals.
• Lead in coming up of capacity building for PAM staff in the use of the equipment management system.
• Lead in the scale up of the equipment management system to all hospital levels.
• Assist in the development of an equipment replacement plan with indicative costs.

To be successful, you will need to have:

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, computer sciences or anything in related field.
• Experience in management of high volumes of data, data organization and analysis for policy makers and program managers in the ministry to use for planning.
• Exposure to Big Data analysis and Machine Learning
• Experience in management of digital health interventions and tools.
• Experience in data mining and data analysis programming languages like Python, R, C++
•    A minimum of 5 years experiences working in high level environment and corroborating with multiple partners and senior government officials
• Experience in creating and presenting presentations for policy change
• Able to translate high level data into policy statements strategy development.
