EGPAF has worked in Malawi since 2001. Today, EGPAF Malawi implements evidence-based HIV prevention, care and treatment interventions in 177 health facilities in nine districts through EGPAF’s U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief/U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (PEPFAR/CDC) – funded Achieving HIV Epidemic Control through Scaling Up Quality Testing, Care and Treatment in Malawi.

EGPAF seeks to fill the following open position:

Title                      :           Senior Business Systems Analyst – Health Information Systems (SBA)

Reports to          :           Associate Director – System Analysis and Product development

Location              :            Lilongwe

How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?

The Senior Business Analyst under the guidance of the Associate Director – System Analysis and Product Development, will support all system analyst responsibilities for the multiple systems (patient HIV data, labs, birth / death and central data repository). The SBA will work with Product managers and development manager to build tools, processes and systems to ensure system designs meet the multiple user needs with modern optimized systems. Solves organizational information problems and requirements by analyzing requirements; designing computer programs; recommending system controls and protocols.

No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect  in this role?

  •  Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
  •  Designs new computer programs by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing technical specifications.
  •  Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
  •    Recommends controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
  •  Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget.
  •  Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
  •  Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures.
  •  Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
  •  Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  •  Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  •  Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  •  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

To be successful, you will need to have:

  •  Bachelors in Computer Science or related field. Those with a Masters in Project Management or any advance Computer science specialization will have an added advantage.
  •  At-least 7 years’ experience in software project management, Development in at least 1 backend framework or front-end framework.
  •  Exposed to an international system development environment with a clear track of experience in managing development of systems which havscaled up worldwide.
  • Software Design, Software Documentation, Software Development Process, Software Requirements, Analyzing Information, Teamwork, Software Maintenance, Written Communication, Promoting Process Improvement
