About Opulence Malawi
Opulence Malawi is a local Non-Profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (TMBRS1014235) based in Lilongwe, Malawi and works across the country. The focus of Opulence is to mobilise communities towards sustainable and resilient development. Opulence Malawi believes in building community-based assets that enable rural communities to build resilience to shocks and stresses.
Opulence Malawi uses a bottom-up approach where communities identify the development deficiencies and collaborate to find solutions to the challenges. Therefore, the organisation prioritises education and capacity building, health and nutrition, sustainable agriculture (permaculture) and economic empowerment as its major programme areas. Opulence’s project target perspective has four strategic priorities in the areas of 1) Improved household food and nutrition security and resilience, 2) Improved literacy and vocational skills, 3) Improved health and hygiene 4) improved economic empowerment in communities.
The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Intern will be responsible for developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation strategies, frameworks, and tools for Opulence Malawi projects and programmes. In addition, the MEL officer will ensure accurate, comprehensive, and timely information and feedback to stakeholders, planning and conducting data quality assurance, and monitoring activities and reports.

· Participate in various meetings held within the organisation.
· Support administrative duties along with other members of the organisation. · Assist in organising M&E meetings. · The MEL intern will support the handling of complaints raised by beneficiaries through phone calls, monitoring visits and assessments. · Perform any other duties as may be directed by the supervisor from time to time. |
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, demography, public policy, international development, economics, Agricultural sciences or closely related development discipline from recognised institutions.
- Should have knowledge of monitoring and evaluation methodologies and experience with data collection, analysis and visualisation software.
