JOB DESCRIPTION
The Opportunity
Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of Fleet Officer for the Ntcheu Office. The Fleet Officer is responsible for supporting day to day coordination of fleet operations at office level in line with SCI and local fleet and transport policies. S/he reports to either the Transport Manager at Country office or the Supply Chain Coordinator at Field office level.
The Fleet Officer will directly supervise drivers under the technical guidance of his/her local fleet management focal person.
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
In order to be successful you will bring/have:
- Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent.
- Relevant Professional Certification in Motor vehicle mechanics or any related field.
- Clean & valid driving license plus Training in Defensive Driving a Must.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in an NGO set up.
- Strong organizational and management skills including problem solving;
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Chichewa;
- Willingness and ability to work in a collaborative & inclusive manner with peers & other colleagues;
- Self-motivated and creative;
