The Malawi Electoral Commission, “the Commission”, is a body created under Section 75(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi, to supervise, direct and preside over the conduct of all elections in Malawi. In accordance with Section 13 of the Electoral Commission Act, the Commission seeks to appoint suitably qualified persons with relevant experience to fill the following vacant positions that exist within its secretariat:

Job Title : Electoral Services Officer -Programs (4 Positions)

Responsible to : Senior Electoral Services Officer (Programs)

Purpose

To design, implement, monitor and evaluate all electoral programs

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designing and implementing all electoral activities.
• Developing and implementing the electoral calendar and ensuring that all required actions are timely completed
• Establishing and maintaining regular contact with political parties and partners in the electoral process.
• Developing and reviewing rules and regulations for conducting credible elections
• Coordinating the training of field staff.
• Ensuring data collection and assessment of numbers of voters in the country.
• Processing all election related queries, complaints and appeals.
• Evaluating and reviewing electoral procedures including registration, verification and voting.

Requisite Academic Qualifications and Experience Desired

Bachelor’s Degree in any Social, Political Science. Education, or Development related field with at least two (2) years relevant work experience in a senior position.
