Overview

The Feed the Future Ag Diversification Activity is a Seven-year project that contributes to USAID/ Malawi’s Feed the Future goal of sustainably reducing poverty and stunting in eight districts of central and southern Malawi. The activity fosters inclusive and sustainable growth of Malawi’s agricultural sector. The activity seeks to improve the nutritional status of women and children under five through a proven nutrition sensitive approach of layering agriculture and nutrition behavior change interventions in rural communities, while increasing the competitiveness of high value, nutrient- rich value chains through support for agricultural enterprises and increased access to markets and finance.

Communications Intern-One (1) Post

Objectives

The Communication Intern will work closely with Communications Manager and AgDiv Team Leads on communications issues for the activity.

Duty Station: Lilongwe, Malawi

Reporting: Communications Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Develop content for AgDiv social media platforms.
  • Support drafting of AgDiv monthly activity reports.
  • Draft success stories for use in reports and other communication needs.
  • Support preparation for AgDiv events such as site visits and workshop.
  • Support AgDiv’s media engagement efforts.
  • Provide communication assistance to AgDiv internal staff and stakeholders.
  • Track AgDiv’s media exposure.
  • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of a Diploma in Journalism, developinent communication or any other relevant qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in using social media platforms. Good oral and written communication skills.
