CQC makes investments in carbon reduction and removal programs, which provide clean and efficient energy appliances, small-scale agriculture and forestry services to the rural poor. CQC’s carbon programs have improved the lives of over 20 million people in Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Central America. Our ambition is to reach over 175 million people by 2035. CQC is headquartered in Washington DC, USA, with subsidiaries in Malawi, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia and Australia.
Currently, CQC is expanding its activities to cover most of the districts in the southern region while maintain sustainability of the existing projects in the central and part of the southern region. The company is therefore inviting applications from suitably qualifying Malawians to fill in the following position:
 
STOVE CHAMPION PROGRAM OFFICERS (2)
 
Overall responsibility for implementing the stove champion program which will involve identifying, tracking of key project monitoring indicators, project implementation progress tracking, analyzing data and preparing regular reports to Stove Champion Program Manager and not limited to the following;
  • Planning and developing strategies for stove champion work with modification from time to time.
  • Maintaining all stove champion project related data registry and reports to enable easy retrieval when required.
  • Tracking data collection activity progress and interpreting it for controlling.
  • Working closely with Stove champion field coordinators to ensure good integration and holistic implementation, project quality and level of responsibility.
  • Work closely with Program Manager in the development and refining of the project monitoring and evaluation tools and frameworks
  • Preparing timely and quality quarterly reports, annual reports and related reports
  • Coordinate and participate in field monthly review meetings and office quarterly review meetings and making sure that key elements of the project are captured during the field monthly review meetings and generate consolidated data and reports.
  • Objectively analyze field issues as they come and give timely direction for smooth implementation progress
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Energy or Environment, Business Administration/management, Community Development and social work or other relevant fields.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ practical work experience in a related position
  • Strong knowledge and understanding related to cleaner cooking, its challenges and opportunities in implementation
  • Experience in cookstoves project implementation structure at a community level.
  • Skills in ICT operation, and proficient in using MS Office.
  • Skills and experience in electronic data collection tools using android phones with adequate skills on internet usage.
  • Poses good analytical skills, Management and Leadership skills, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chichewa
  • Skills and experience in facilitating trainings at all levels.
  • High level of integrity in following and complying to the standard operating procedure
