Malawi Police Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited is a member owned Financial Cooperative in Malawi that provides savings and credit services to members of the Malawi Police Service and Civil Servants.
The SACCO was established in 2014 with the aim of promoting financial inclusion and improving the economic well-being of its members. The SACCO offers a range of financial products and services, including savings accounts, fixed deposits and loans. The SACCO is Fully Licensed and regulated by the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM).
The SACCO is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the post of SME Officer.
SME Officer
The SME Officer will be reporting to the Credit Manager.
Role Purpose
SME Officer will be primarily analyzing of credit proposals for new and existing clients in accordance with financial performance to alleviate in Financial Risk and monitoring of repayment capacities and capabilities. He or she will help to prepare weekly and monthly reports, carry out continuing analysis, and carry out other tasks as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform underwriting of new and existing loans to assess the financial conditions, repayment capacity and risks associated with transactions.
- Analysis of personal cash flow, business cash flow and related financial statements.
- Credit assessment through analyzing Financial Statements, Bank Statements, Sales Invoices, Business activities of Credit Customers to evaluate the degree of risk involved in lending money to them.
- Effectively communicate results of the underwriting in a written / verbal presentation for reviews regarding Risks by the Credit Committee and Senior Management.
- Assure all analysis and underwriting adapts to credit policy, SACCO regulations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly credit and portfolio loan reports.
- Maintains contact and good relationship with client.
- Ensure full compliance with all in place Malawi Police SACCO policies procedures and with audit.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Cooperative Management or any Business related degree
- At least 5-years prior experience in Credit Department in a financial institution
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Sound written and verbal English communication skills.
- Advanced Computer Skills (Ms. Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Analysis and Reporting Skills.
- Problem Solving and Decision Making.
