Finance Manager

Basic Function

To manage and maintain books of accounts, administrative and operational plans and programs to attain desired goals and objectives set by the board.

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts and RBM returns by 5th and 15th of every month respectively.
• Prepare business plans and budgets in collaboration with the Sacco Manager.
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Comply with financial policies and regulations
• Checking Bank reconciliation by 5th of every month
• Preparing staff salaries by 25th of every month
• Looking after company’s general operations
• Supervising, mentoring and appraising junior staff members
• Any other duties assigned by the Manager

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• BSc in Accounting, Finance or studying towards final stage of ICAM/ACCA.
• Work experience as an Accountant
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
