The Organisation
The African Institute of Corporate Citizenship (AICC) is a non-governmental organization whose main mandate is to promote the role of businesses in building resilient communities and sustainable businesses through partnerships.
Since its establishment, AICC’s mandate has expanded to stimulating and supporting private sector investment in the Malawian agricultural and rural markets with a specific focus on the lower end of these markets. Its operations are national in scope and stretches across the agriculture sector and the organization works primarily with those partners in the sector that are committed to engaging the rural poor as their beneficiaries, suppliers and consumers. AICC aims at addressing systems and institutions that can drive competitiveness and job creation in specific sectors by using a market development approach. The interventions by the organization build on private sector development strategies that seek to strengthen enterprises, business relationships & services, market structures, and the business environment so that they channel more benefits to the poor and create more and better jobs effectively. Since its inception, AICC has developed and continue to host the Cotton, Rice, Legumes, Dairy and Livestock Value Chains.
The organization is seeking experienced professionals to contribute their high level of expertise to the organization and the program through the following position:
District Coordinator (1)
Location: Dedza
The Position Description:
The District Coordinator provides essential support to a programme, working with the program or Project Manager and other team members to achieve the project success.
She/he will report directly to the Project Manager in a designated project and in an event where 2 or 3 Project are involved, the District Coordinator will have a matrix reporting to all the Project Managers involved.
Position Responsibilities (key responsibilities):

- Prepare Project Briefs, Updates, Summaries and Analysis as part of progress reporting from time to time
- On a regular basis, meet with the Project Manager to review progress and to discuss future steps.
- Arrange meetings with the members of the project or platform.
- Maintaining crucial project documents which track project progress. S/he will file all project documents in an appropriate database or library, and ensure that all documents are accurate and have been accepted by the Project Manager
- Identify any potential issues or risks that could affect the progression of the project. Work with the Manager on these to identify potential solutions
- Monitor implementation of the work plan or schedule, monitoring deadlines for each project task. Check regularly that every deadline is still possible, and report any potential delays to the Project Managers
- Prepare work plans/work schedules for all planned activities and ensure these are submitted to platform Managers for approval as per agreed overall work plan.
- Work with other stakeholders, local community leaders and other community stakeholders to identify and address issues affecting project delivery
- Collect and collate/compile monthly, quarterly or any reports and data required information relating to the programme and submit this to the project manager in time
- Network with other key partners – NGOs, CBOs, Government departments and key community members at national levels to ensure that the programme is fully supported
- Represent AICC in local level community forums, meetings and events as appropriate from time to time
- Attend programme development, planning, review and any meetings that are scheduled with staff from time to time.
- Preform appraisals with subordinate
Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree Social Sciences, Development studies, Social Work and Community Development or its equivalent required.
- At least 5 years’ working experience.
- Excellent analytical skills by use of computer package such Microsoft office and SPSS and other statistical packages.
