The Opportunity

Save the Children is inviting applications from suitably qualified personnel to fill the position of  Team Leader  (1 position) for Abwenzi a Ana (AAA) Program. The role holder will will lead integration of this program into the wider country office programing and the Country Strategic Plan. The position will also focus on leveraging national platforms such as in advocacy, networking and innovations while also coordinating program implementation in the impact communities.

The post holder will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the programme, ensuring quality of all programme deliverables and that the programme meets the expected results and reporting requirements. S/he will therefore serve as the primary liaison with other Save the Children offices on management and technical matters.


In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • A strong Degree in any one of the following fields: Development Studies, Social Studies, Community/Rural Development and Education.
  • A Master’s Degree in the same area would be an added advantage
  • Additional training or experience on Child Protection, Psychosocial Support, Gender Equality, Social Inclusion, Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights, Child Rights Programming, Humanitarian Response or any other relevant area will be an added advantage.
  • Certificate in Project management would be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years’ progressive senior management experience, preferably in a complex multi-dimensional program that embraced Advocacy and Innovations. Excellent project management skills is a  MUST
  • Demonstrable ability to provide and sustain vision to a Team over a longer period;
  • Demonstrable experience in advocacy –especially capacity and ability to advocate, and influence and advocate with stakeholders at national and other higher Forums.
  • Creativity and experience with innovations in working with communities and ability to scale up
  • Experience and commitment to working in effective and meaningful partnerships
  • Ability to trouble shoot and manage risks with clear mitigations plans
  • Strong networking, communication and representational skills
  • Good and proactive Team player
  • A solid experience and track record in mentoring and inspiring and influencing teams to perform at the highest levels.
