SPECIFIC DUTIES

  • Preparing and accounting for prepaid expenses in line with applicable accounting standards and MRA policies;
  • Accounting for inventory in line with GAAP, relevant accounting standards and MRA policies;
  • Posting of invoices, expenditures, investments, loans deduction and money transfers in SAP ERP system in accordance with relevant accounting standards
  • Analyzing reconciling items and make appropriate recommendations to management through the Team Leader
  • Identifying areas requiring improvement and properly recommend feasible improvements to Management through Team Leader
  • Receiving and verify invoices, requisitions and goods received notes for goods/services
  • Ensuring that terminal benefits for ex- employees are timely prepared and all loans are recovered in line with relevant polices and statutes
  • Ensuring that all reconciliations are reviewed by supervisors and properly filed
  • Collecting revenue figures from Stations on daily basis and submit report to team leader timely
  • Preparing cash books and cash controls and capturing of cash controls into IFMIS for government accounts
  • Prepare appropriate journal vouchers to post adjustments to accounting records
  • Preparation of audit schedules for external and internal audits;
  • Assist in preparing detailed variance analysis reports;
  • Effectively carrying out accounts reconciliations and assisting in risk management
  • Preparation of payment vouchers for creditors and medical deductions Reconciliations of revenue, transit and creditors accounts
  • Preparation of audit schedules for external and internal audits
  • Preparation of daily cash position

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Accountancy Degree or Bachelor of Commerce – Finance from a recognized institution
  • Computer system experience preferably SAP ERP
  • Three (3) years  relevant  working experience
