JOB DESCRIPTION

The Opportunity

The Finance Officer shall assist in monitoring, reporting and maintenance of the Country Office Finances and resources. The officer will support the finance coordinator in ensuring best in class financial controls and management at the Country office – implementing efficient & effective processes; improving and ensuring compliance with internal control systems.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting from a recognized university.
  • Those in advanced studies towards professional certification in Finance /Accounting are encouraged to apply

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Accounting field preferably with an INGO environment, corporate and audit firm
  • Experience and knowledge of  Agresso FMS ERP  will be an added advantage
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent team working spirit.
  • A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment
  • Excellent understanding of computerised accounts packages, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives and values
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
  • Excellent understanding of financial systems, controls and procedures
