mothers2mothers (m2m) is an Africa-based NGO that unlocks the potential of women to eliminate paediatric AIDS and create healthy families across ten sub-Saharan African countries. m2m trains, employs, and helps empower women living with HIV to work as community healthcare workers in understaffed health centres and underserved communities. Through a peer-to-peer approach, these ‘Mentor Mothers’ deliver a range of health services, advice, and support to women and their families. Job Description

Overall Purpose of the Job 

The role of an Expert Client Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the  activities in his/her designated cluster of facilities.  To further its goal of identifying new HIV positive clients and retaining them in care, m2m has broadened  the scope of its peer based RMNCH/ PMTCT education and Psychosocial support model to provide services to all persons living with HIV regardless of gender.  The post holder will work collaboratively with the Project Manager, Technical Manager and the HIV Clinical Advisor and s/he will provide Expert Client (s) with technical, management and administrative support.

Description of Tasks / Key Performance  Areas

Direct Service Delivery (40/100)
Supporting Expert Clients to deliver services in facilities according to the national HIV Testing, ART treatment protocols through:
Pre-enrollment support by reviewing:
?    linkages within the facility and community to ensure all HIV-tested clients are appropriately linked to care
?    enrolment and HTS, ART referral registers
Patient Appointment by monitoring:
?    appointment diary is up-to date(paper based and the mobile health application
?    missed appointments and follow up registers with patients, are up to date (tracking and case management registers)
Missed Appointments after 7, 14 and 28 days management by reviewing:
?    missed appointments transferred into tracking register are up-to-date
?    missed appointments are updated in the mobile health application
?    defaulter tracing register is up to date with outcomes recorded
?    home visits recorded
?    Airtime log is updated and triangulated with tracking and defaulter tracing registers
?    Tracing outcomes are updated in the electronic medical records system(EMRS) for the MoH
Compile and timely submission of weekly Missed appointment cohort reports
•    Meet  the Facility-in-Charge to  verify lists of missed appointments/defaulters submitted for tracing and validate/triangulate outcomes in the case management register with tracking register and EMRS

Adherence Counseling by checking the number of adherence education sessions performed
Psychosocial Support
•    Check the number of:
?    PSSGs formed and number of meetings held a week against the schedule
?    disclosure sessions held  and number of clients support in the process
?    PHDP sessions held

Support Viral Load Monitoring by accessing the number of:
?    ART clients eligible for VL and those not been notified of their High VL results
?    booster adherence sessions provided for patients with suppressed viral load
•     Ensure VL/DBS collection and results are documented by ECs

Site Coordination (35/100)
•    Provide strategic, technical guidance and support to the Expert Clients by educating, and engaging them through:
•    Training and mentorship
•     Capacity building of EC on their roles and responsibilities through one on one mentorship
•    Coordinate weekly meetings with Expert Clients  to facilitate staff development
•    Identify  Expert Clients training needs

•    Conducting quality assurance and quality improvement exercised in all facilities
•    Conduct supportive supervision using standardised checklist (QA/QI Bio tool)
•    Participate  in facility-level QI meetings

•    Reviewing of data collected and submitted by Expert Clients
•    Sample PSSG records (register, minutes of meetings etc) for correct data
•    Ensure that the DHIS-2 tracker for virtual psychosocial support services is up to date
•    Ensure availability of tools and timely reporting by ECs
•    Compile weekly and monthly reports on program activities

•    Supervision, monitoring and reporting on facility activities
•    Liaise with the designated facility focal point person to check Expert Clients performance
•    Plan and coordinate a roster of Expert  Client work schedules
•    Manage any crisis at the site level and request assistance from facility on  ECs management as appropriate
•    Monitor Expert Clients  for signs or symptoms of stress or burnout; provide support or recommendations for referrals as appropriate

Site Financial , Administration and HR (25/100)
•    Attend monthly Expert Clients  Coordinator meetings and communicate learning back to  Project Manager  and facility staff
•    Addressing personal and professional challenges being faced by ECs
•    Compile weekly and monthly statistics for each site and provide information to the Project  Manager
•    Ensure that all project funds are accounted for at site level by compiling financial records and monitoring expenditure in line with mothers2mothers procedures
•    Comply with all HR procedures  and orient Expert Clients  on policies,  procedures, and expectations of them in their day to day work.

Job Requirements

Job Specifications.

Qualifications and Experience:
•    Minimum of Diploma in Health, Social Sciences or related field
•    3-5  years’ experience in health programme management
•    Licensed motorcycle rider
•    Applied knowledge of M & E systems and tools
•    Excellent communication, time management skills, good reporting and writing skills
•    Demonstrated experience in maintaining strategic relationships with external stakeholders at multiple levels
•    Strong computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet)
Competencies:
•    Good mentoring skills
•    Strong interpersonal and team building skills
•    Fluency in English and Chichewa
•    Ability to work independently, problem-solve collectively and innovatively
•    Fluent in English and Chichewa
