To accomplish its mission, PSI Malawi is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions;

Demand Creation Coordinator (VMMC)

Reporting to the  SBCC Manager VMMC , the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and supervising demand creation activities across multiple sites in allocated district/s while ensuring that demand creation efforts are in line with set standards and contributing to overall performance. Specifically, he/she will be required to perform the following duties and responsibilities;

  • Provide first field level demand creation team oversight, supervising a group of demand creation officers and community mobilizers supporting VMMC service delivery
  • Lead cluster level development, testing and implementation of innovative VMMC demand creation approaches that are catchment area
  • Supervise activities of Demand Creation Officers (DCOs) and ensure they are in line with PSI/M’s VMMC demand creation strategies and monitor quality of IPC delivery through community
  • Mentor DCOs using relevant mentorship and supervision tools and give feedback on the
  • Monitor and track all assigned DCOs performance record and offer appropriate support based on need.
  • Plan and conduct master training for DCOs and community mobilisers in IPC management and VMMC key messaging.
  • Manage mobilisers’ contracts in liaison with procurement department
  • Coordinate weekly mobiliser payments, ensure accurate document submission, follow up and timely
  • Ensure team compliance with all program and support department policies including HR, Finance and
  • Compile and manage DCO’s leave plan to ensure that there are no disruptions in implementation of demand creation activities.
  • Plan and organize periodic and ad hoc team meetings with DCOs in collaboration with the SBCC Manager to get lessons learned and map the way forward on program
  • Facilitate cross learning between teams and ensure adoption and adaptation of working innovations
  • Coordinate with Service Delivery Coordinators on supporting and supervising site level
  • Support Demand Creation Officers logistically and ensure that vehicles, PA systems and any other relevant equipment are in good condition at all times
  • Keep track of IEC and promotional materials in the warehouse by liaising with the Warehouse Coordinator from time to time and replenish the materials before they are finished
  • Review funds requests, per-diem requests as well as reconciliations for Demand Creation Officers and ensure all necessary paperwork is attached at all times
  • Compile and submit monthly activity reports by the 5 th  day of every following
  • Monitoring organizational image through frequent adequate engagement of local leaders

Qualification, Knowledge, Ability and Skills

  • Applicants must have a Degree in Public Health, Humanities, Journalism, Community Development or relevant field from NCHE accredited university/college with at least 3 years’ experience in community mobilization and engagement, behavior change communication programs or Communication for Development
