We are looking for volunteer writers to join our editorial team. Successful candidates will be responsible for writing articles on a wide range of issues, with a focus on solution journalism.
Your stories will appear on our media platform and social accounts, including our WhatsApp community.
As a volunteer writer you will be assigned a range of topics to choose from by our Editor in Chief that fit into our core themes.
We’d also be delighted to hear pitches from you. It would be a bonus if you have some expertise in one of our core themes. As long as your ideas fit in with our mission and tone of voice, the
world is your oyster.
Your will work closely with our Editor in Chief, who will give you editorial support at every stage of your writing journey. The number of hours you work is up to you, but we expect a minimum commitment of 2 articles a month.
The AfricaBrief is based in Malawi but you’re welcome to work from anywhere. If you’re looking to expand your portfolio, and make the world a better place, this is the position for you.
You’re a creative storyteller. As long as your stories make us feel stuff we don’t care about your spelling or grammar so much, spellcheck is easy.
You’re passionate about making the world a better place and helping others.
You’re committed to this position. Whether it’s 10 hours a week or 10 hours a month, you won’t leave us hanging.
You’re an experienced writer or eager to learn about working in an editorial team
