Role overview

The Programme Implementation Systems and IT Manager will drive effective programme delivery by leading on technology and business process improvements which enhance the efficiency of programmes teams. They will be at the heart of the development of a global programme implementation framework, responsible for the identification and delivery of both process and systems changes needed across VSO’s digital platforms. This role will focus on both tools and processes which are used internally, to manage VSO’s programmatic activity, as well as ensuring that technology interventions within individual programmes are well designed, resourced and fully costed as part of programme design and bid proposals.

In this role you will lead on the prioritisation of IT needs for the Programmes Implementation team, working with the IT team to build out the IT strategy and roadmap. In collaboration with the global IT team, you will facilitate capacity building of the implementation team and continuous learning and improvement in the application of technology in programme delivery. As the person responsible for business systems and process improvement, you will support the implementation team in mapping out business processes and identifying requirements for process automation.


Skills, qualifications and experience

You will demonstrate a practical approach to IT problem solving and offer a proven track record of delivering IT enhancements. You will require an extensive working knowledge of cloud based technologies, including Microsoft365, Salesforce (or similar) and other web-based applications. The ideal applicant will bring substantial experience of leading project delivery and working with third parties, as well as strong communication and leadership skills. They will demonstrate a proactive and organised working style with the ability to prioritize own workload and that of others. We are looking for someone who has the ability to produce business case documentation, which clearly explains the need for enhancements and how success will be measured. Your strong IT Design and Change Management experience will be put to the test, in overseeing the delivery of a broad range of technical projects in multiple locations across Africa and Asia.
